Pulse 87: New Dance Music Radio Station Launches In New York City

Ladies and Gentelmen, Dance Music has returned to major market radio.

Playing a mix of Top 40 remixes and the big dance hits, Mega Media in New York City has launched PULSE 87.7 in the #1 radio market in the US. Mega Media is an independant signal broadcasting from the low power audio signal of a TV broadcaster, but covers Manhattan and the surrounding burroughs.

Because of it's TOP 40 Remix and dance "HIT" factor, electronic music geeks I'm sure will bandy about words like "Cheesy" and "Commercial" on various nightlife forums like Cooljunkie.com, Clubplanet.com and talknightlife.com. But in the end, the globally connected dance music culture has found itself a rare addition to its precious few American radio outlets.

In Miami the beat has certainly not stopped as every night after 10pm, Y100 becomes CLUB 100, a beat-mixed popourri of Y100's hit tracks before midnight or broadcasts from various clubs. Then late night, the exceptional Cato K presents his "Club Sessions" show.

Check it all out at Y100.com
